Sunrises are always a gamble. You jump out of bed at 5am on a November morning and take a peek out the bedroom window. You can sort of kind of see that the conditions look promising for a good sunrise. So with a sense of hopeful optimism you get dressed, grab your gear, and head out in the cold and darkness to find a nice spot to hopefully capture all the upcoming fiery glory ! This morning I was at Pipers Lagoon in the dark waiting in the cold for just such a sunrise! I would bet $20 that if you asked a 100 local photographers for a recommendation as to where you shoot a sunrise in Nanaimo quite a few would suggest Pipers. Here are some images of what happened.
