Dennis McMahon, Sean Sherstone, and I all set out for the Sidney Pier first thing (5am!!) this morning. We left Nanaimo with big hopes for a nice glowy dramatic sunrise over the Saanich Peninsula that really never happened. But we did get one brief beautiful burst of warm light as the sun came through the clouds on the horizon and that was very nice. You'll know that shot when you see it! I got to do a few 5 minute plus exposures. And I also got to try out my new Rokinon 14mm 2.8 lens for the Sony A7S and what a wide angle bargain it is turning out to be! Thanks be to our benevolent overlord Google for finding me a Lightroom lens profile for the Rokinon and for then showing me how to install it as well! All Praise Be To Google. Here are my favorite shots from today. I shot the heck out of that Pier!
