I’ve been working on a personal photography project for the last 2 months and it has finally come to an an end. I’ve always wanted to photograph a trained dancer using stroboscopic flash. This technique has always intrigued me and I love the way it captures human motion! So this year I bought 3 cheap Neewer flashes from Amazon that have the “multi” setting and started looking for a dancer to photograph. I was so so lucky to find Lucy Trepanier, a wonderful young dancer from Nanaimo. I couldn’t have wished for anyone better to work with for my first go at this technique. We did 2 rehearsals on the stage at Beban Park and then finished with a live demonstration at the annual Foto Fun Fair put on by the Harbour City Photography Club. Here are some of my favorite images from our rehearsals and from the Foto Fun Fair.
