I was very lucky to be able to spend 2 days photographing in Vancouver this February. I got to spend some time photographing the city at night on the first day and then the 2018 Chinese New Years Parade the next day!
The Vancouver Chinese New Years Parade is one of my all-time favourite public events to photograph. I try to make it every year. So much energy, color, and noise in a beautiful setting
I was accompanied by my wife Kathy and two super-fun ladies, Erika and Pat, from the Ladysmith Camera Club.
Our night photography was cut short the 1st evening when we encountered heavy snow showers at False Creek! I get the shivers just thinking about how cold that was! But luckily we had all gotten some nice shots earlier along the Stanley Park Seawalk.
The weather for the Parade on Sunday was amazing. It was beautifully sunny but quite cold. None of us could feel our feet after standing there photographing the Parade for 3 hours!
Here are some of my favourite shots from our trip.
