One of the best things about being a photography nut on Vancouver Island is that you always have Victoria! Our beautiful capital punches way over it’s weight when it comes to awesome foto opps! Yesterday, my foto buddy Sucha and I headed out in the early am to catch a sunrise at Gordon Bay Provincial Park. That just didn’t happen hahaha! We then worked our way down-Island with a stop at Koksilah River Provincial Park http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/koksilah_rv/ for some long exposures. But our main goal was to spend some time in the magnificent Christ Church Cathedral on Quadra Street in Victoria. You can read the interesting history of the Church on their website at: https://www.christchurchcathedral.bc.ca/ . After spending a couple of hours photographing we went for lunch at the famous “John’s Place” http://www.johnsplace.ca/ . My first trip to John’s Place was in 1996 and it’s as good today as it was then. Great food, and a cheeky happy staff. After lunch I was lucky enough to run into a young lady practicing with a hoop in a courtyard ( see previous blog entry!) After that happy random encounter and a few hundred pictures later of her we headed for home. We made one last stop at a lovely little waterfall in Goldstream Park http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/goldstream/ . Here are some of my favorite images from a very nice late January day of photography.
